The Identity Security team safeguards Microsoft Entraand Microsoft products bypreventing, detecting, mitigating, and responding to security threats. Qualifications
Required Qualifications
7+ years experience in software development lifecycle, large-scale computing, modeling, cybersecurity, and/or anomaly detection
- OR Doctorate in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or related field.
- Proficiency in threat modeling, vulnerability assessment, and security risk documentation, ensuring clarity and strategic risk management.
- Expertise in Security Risk Engineering, with a strong foundation in security principles, risk assessment methodologies, and mitigation strategies.
Experience in collaboration with engineering teams, senior leadership, and security experts.
Experience with engineering roadmaps, ensuring security risks are effectively addressed in development priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proven ability to collaborate with security engineers, refine risk management strategies, and influence security roadmaps. Deep knowledge of identity security, authentication protocols (OAuth, OpenID Connect, SAML), and adversarial research methodologies.
- Strategic Leadership & Collaboration – Experience working with executive stakeholders to define security frameworks. Ability to engage cross-functional teams, articulate business needs for productimprovement, and deliver effective communications to technical and non-technical audiences.
Security Research IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $137,600 - $267,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $180,400 - $294,000 per year.
