Data Platforms is an exciting collective of teams spanning product and engineering teams. This unique role is integral to cultivating a truly back to front risk culture, driving leadership and teams to collaboratively and consciously assume positive risk positions in pursuit of an ambitious strategy.
The role supports the Group Head, Data Platforms Product & Engineering in identifying, understanding, measuring and handling risks and remediation plans.
Providing subject matter expert guidance on risk management methodology, as well as coordination of risk and control initiatives across Data Platforms.
Driving improvements in risk culture, ensuring teams understand LSEG's risk requirements and the benefits of effective risk management.
Coordinating and organising key risk data, driving ownership across our leaders and teams, and supporting the mitigation of risk by leading plans!
Collaborate with a range of teams to improve risk culture across Data Platforms and ensuring business decisions align with risk appetite and strategy.
Understand, consolidate and present key data to Data Platform leaders, ensuring they are accurately briefed and lead the improvement from the current to the desired risk position.
Supervise and report on remediation plans for "outside appetite" risks.
Ensure risks are accurately governed as per LSEG's processes and policies and contribute in the relevant risk communities and committees, including taking ownership of committed activities.
Extensive (5+ years) risk management experience and SME knowledge, preferably in an enterprise and/or financial services environment.
Positive and proactive approach to risk management, who ensures high quality controls enables thoughtful ambition.
A responsible owner, keeping commitments, and getting involved in detailed and strategic work.
A strong and demonstrable understanding of risk management methodologies and control frameworks.
Ability to analyse and evaluate facts and information in order to form a good judgement and resolve course of action.
A logical and methodical mentality, who can take sophisticated and abstract concepts and communicate and present them with transparency and precision.
The ability to think strategically and understand the broader impacts of decision making and actions for the organisation.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the willingness and ability to challenge and influence effectively across a variety of personalities.
Strong written and verbal presentation skills.
Educated to degree level or equivalent.
