We are looking for someone with the right combination of curiosity, organization, communication skills and courage to become a Security Operations Engineer for CISO’s Information Protection program in Microsoft Federal. You will put your creativity to work applying agile delivery practices to deliver state-of-the-art security solutions. This position requires cross-organization collaboration, engaging with business stakeholders to identify requirements so that our team of engineers can deliver the right solution. This includes clarifying scope and objectives, tracking projects to delivery, and reporting progress. You will drive for results, learn to identify operational improvements, and contribute to a culture of customer service.

Required/Minimum Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in software development lifecycle, large-scale computing, modeling, cyber security, anomaly detection, Security Operations Center (SOC) detection, threat analytics, security incident and event management (SIEM), information technology (IT), and operations incident response
- OR Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or related field.

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role.These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
- This role will require access to information that is controlled for export under export control regulations, potentially under the U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations or Export Administration Regulations, the EU Dual Use Regulation, and/or other export control regulations. As a condition of employment, the successful candidate will be required to provide proof of citizenship, U.S. permanent residency, or other protected status (e.g., under 8 U.S.C. § 1324b(a)(3)) for assessment of eligibility to access the export-controlled information. To meet this legal requirement, and as a condition of employment, the successful candidate’s citizenship will be verified with a valid passport. Lawful permanent residents, refugees, and asylees may verify status using other documents, where applicable.
This position requires verification of citizenship due to citizenship-based legal restrictions. Specifically, this position supports United States federal, state, and/or local government agency customers and is subject to certain citizenship-based restrictions where required or permitted by applicable law. Additional or Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with log analytics, Kusto or Sentinel
- Proven ability to deal with ambiguity and changing priorities
- Familiarity with logic apps or other low code/no code platforms
- Communicates clearly and consistently with team members and manager
- An understanding of PowerShell and automation
- Familiarity with function apps
- Background in Microsoft Information Security tools.
Security Operations Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $98,300 - $193,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $127,200 - $208,800 per year.
